Welcome!

I am so excited you found me! Once I tell you my story, you may realize that I once was in your shoes and needed some help, so here we go…  🙂

I was born and raised in Munich, Germany. When I was 17 years old, my mother gifted me a purebred German shepherd and told me to train and compete with him in Schutzhund (protection dog training). That’s where it all began…

Over the course of many years, I learned a lot about dog psychology, the relationship between a dog and their handler, and how to successfully train a dog to be obedient. I competed in several competitions with my dog and was very thankful for all the knowledgeable trainers I had around me.

When we were training in Schutzhund or competing, my dog was on point and knew when to perform. When it came to a regular walk and passing other dogs, it became a nightmare! It seemed to me as if he hated other dogs. I always worried if he ever came off the leash by accident, he would bite one. I always wondered how he could be so obedient when we are training or competing, but on a regular walk, everything went out the window when he would see a dog. I lived this way for years! I would avoid other dogs, I would stop or walk the other direction, or I would try to distract him; but nothing worked.

After working with dogs for years, I was so tired of this behavior. I started to research what I could do to understand my dogs behavior, and implement effective training. With my knowledge of dog psychology and research, I was able to communicate with my 5 year old dog in a way he understood. I ended up going as far as even socializing my 5 year old German shepherd with other dogs! I never thought that could ever happen! Looking back now, I know what went wrong and wish I would have known better. Now here I am, almost 20 years later, helping other owners understand their dogs and build a calm, trusting relationship.

Schutzhund training is VERY different compared to training needed for dogs in your everyday life. I love looking back at Schutzhund training. It was my start to finding my passion in dog training. However, I closed that chapter in my life when my one and only Falco passed away in 2014.

Over the last 20 years, I have worked as a dog trainer for a company and now myself, fostered and trained dogs & their owners to help understand each other and live together in the best possible way. I love to continue learning, so in 2018, I was given the opportunity to participate in a shadow program with dog trainer & owner Heather Beck at K9 Lifeline in Utah. I learned how to work with various dogs and all challenges to create a Calm Four Legged Follower . After successfully completing the Shadow program at her facility, I was very impressed with the concept and how effective this program was, so I attended again in October 2023 to further my knowledge and stay up to date with changes.

If you don’t have a Calm Four Legged Follower, how are you ever going to be able to walk your dog calmly with a loose leash? How are you going to work through anxiety, aggression, or excitement? How are you going to teach your dog to be calm, trusting, and follow your direction? Every dog needs someone they can trust, understand and follow. Let me help you find the best solution and individual training to better understand and effectively communicate with your dog. I look forward to helping create a stronger and more trusting relationship and bond between you and your dog.
